About Christian Thomas

Christian Thomas is an emerging East Tennessee artist whose sound blends piano-driven pop with the timeless storytelling of Billy Joel, Elton John, Hans Zimmer and the cinematic sweep of a seasoned composer. A lifelong creative, Christian has been writing and performing music since childhood, shaping melodies that feel both emotionally intimate and theatrically grand.

With a background in composing original pieces for short films, his artistry carries a natural sense of drama, depth, and narrative flair. Every song he writes is crafted with intention — rich chords, honest lyrics, and the kind of musicality that pulls listeners into his world.

Christian Thomas is stepping boldly into his next chapter, carving out a space where classic pop influences meet modern cinematic sound. And he’s only just getting started.

Get To Know Me!

Q: If someone has never heard you before, what artists would you compare your music to?

A: Elton John. My music is very piano driven and gives the same theatrical storytelling that Eltons does.

Q: What’s the story behind how you started making music?

A: I first discovered that I could hear and play music when I was 12-ish and from there it was just a natural progression to start writing songs. I was inspired by movie scores and started writing them.

Q: What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?

A: For me, in every good song there is a moment where it all comes together. It evokes an emotion, it empowers you, makes you feel joy, victory, sadness, or motivation and in that moment you are feeling the music more than you are listening to it. I’d like to think that when you listen to my music you can feel the emotion.

Q: How do you usually write a song (lyrics first, melody first, piano first, etc.)?

A: I usually come up with a cool phrase, for example in my latest song, Rabbit on the Run, that was the phrase that got me thinking it could be a good story. Then I move on to the melody. I let the phrase guide me through the rest of the melody. Once I have the music down I go back and write the rest of the lyrics.

Q: What inspires you outside of music?

A: Stories inspire me. I like to tell stories through different mediums. I find a lot of inspiration in books and movies.

Q: Favorite artist of all time?

A: Elton John and Hans Zimmer

Q: What’s the next release you’re most excited about? Why?

A: I am really excited about my EP release in March. All the songs have a different sound and I feel like it’s a well-rounded introduction to my music.
